The Gilman Science Department is very excited to welcome their newest member, Michelle Craig. Mrs. Craig, a native of Maryland, has been teaching high school science for 21 years. Previously a science chair at the George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology, Ms. Craig will be teaching biology this year. Never having taught in an all boys environment, Mrs. Craig is very excited to join the Gilman community and be with “like-minded individuals interested in educating boys/young men so they can be the best they can be.” One of the aspects that Mrs. Craig is most excited about for this coming year is the teacher-coach model at Giman and being involved in the complete school experience of Gilman students. Mrs. Craig hold degrees from many institutions such as Salisbury University, University of Maryland, Loyola University, and the College of Notre Dame where she earned a Master of the Arts in Teaching. When not teaching, Mrs. Craig enjoys reading mystery books and cooking. She loves to be outdoors and is fond of hiking and relaxing at the pool or on her deck. She will find much in common with many students with their mutual interest in watching Stranger Things and Friends! As a fan of watching Premier League Soccer with her family, hopefully she’ll be cheering on the Gilman soccer team soon. Welcome, Mrs. Craig!
