H.K. Cotton Memorial Lecture Speaker Series -- Eric D. Becker '80
Eric D. Becker co-founded Sterling Partners, a private
equity firm, in 1983 with fellow entrepreneurs. As a
co-founder, he has been involved in strategic planning,
and has served as a director and advisor to many Sterling
portfolio companies.
Today Mr. Becker is a senior managing partner and
co-founder of Sterling Venture Partners (SVP), the
venture capital arm of Sterling Partners, and he is largely
responsible for the growth and strategic direction of SVP.
Mr. Becker serves on the boards of Port Discovery
Children’s Museum and Business Volunteers Unlimited,
and is an advisor to the Teen
Volunteering Initiative for the
Associated. Mr. Becker is a
member and past Chairman
of the Washington-Baltimore
Chapter of the Young Presidents
Organization. He also remains
close to his alma mater and
serves as co-chair of the alumni
committee for Character, Leadership, Commitment:
The Campaign for Gilman School.
